St. Jude Thaddeus Church

Wedding Ceremony Bliss

St. Jude Thaddeus Church is a church inside Camp Lapu-Lapu in Lahug, Cebu City. We wanted a solemn and intimate wedding ceremony and this church is just the right place for us. A few kilometers far from the main road and a commercial center, the church’s ambiance is one of solitude and peace. Big trees and green well-trimmed grasses abound. Don’t expect to see nuns clad in their habits or singing their hymns though. Instead expect to see alert military men in their uniform watching the gates and the birds doing their chirps and their tweets.

January 15, 2011 was our day. Indeed, it was a very special day. It was raining all throughout the ceremony but no amount rain could stop all of us from having a very solemn and emotional ceremony. We had several light moments during the ceremony and the rain provided a very distinct background to our “I dos”.  I believe the heavens must have cried buckets of tears of happiness seeing me married at the age of 37!  What a blessing!

The beautiful painting at the altar
Flower arrangement on the aisle made up of twigs and an assortment of orange, yellow flowers and some greens.
Indeed, God's plans are far greater than our plans. After all the mocking around with our documents and the challenges of all sorts, our wedding ceremony turned out to be more beautiful, intimate and blissful than we thought it to be!

  1. Sis, Do we need to be residents of the camp in order to use St. Jude Thadeus Chapel for wedding? Can we use the influence of a Colonel? Where did you have your reception? This is the nearest church/chapel I see near Montebello.
    Thanks!
